What does an estate clear-out usually cost?
Most estate clear-outs range from $1,500 to $6,000 plus GST. The final cost depends on the property and agreed scope. We’ll walk through with you and confirm the price before work begins.
Do we need to sort the property first?
No. Your family can take the items they want to keep, and we’ll discuss how to manage the rest during the walk-through. You don’t need to prepare or pack everything in advance.
Can you help get the home ready for sale or rent?
Yes. We can clear the agreed contents, clean the property and discuss practical care while it’s on the market. We’ll confirm exactly what is included in your plan.
Can you manage storage if our family needs more time?
Yes. We can manage an agreed storage plan for the items your family is not ready to remove. We’ll agree what is stored, the timeframe, access and any storage or handling costs before arrangements are made.
Can you work with us if we live overseas?
Yes. We can coordinate planning and updates by phone or email, and agree who will make decisions for the estate. We’ll confirm approvals before work begins and can coordinate with a local family contact if you have one.
Who needs to approve the clear-out?
We work with the executor, administrator or other person authorised to act for the estate. Before starting, we confirm the agreed scope, access and approvals with them.
What happens to family photos, papers and valuables?
Please point out anything important during the walk-through. We’ll agree how those items should be identified and set aside, and won’t remove them unless the authorised estate representative has approved it.
What if family members disagree about an item?
We can leave particular items aside while the family resolves a decision. We only remove contents that have been clearly approved for removal by the person authorised to act for the estate.
Can you help care for the property while it is for sale?
Yes. We can agree practical property care for the time it is on the market. We’ll confirm the tasks, timing and any costs in the written scope so everyone knows what to expect.
